We Didn't Build Quickater From a Boardroom

Most catering operations software is designed by people who studied the industry. Quickater was built by someone who drove the routes. Here's the difference.

Founder, Quickater

When did you last ask your driver what the worst part of their day is? Or sit beside a coordinator at peak season and watch where eight hours actually go? Or ask a packer what slows them down when they're trying to load three vans before 6am?

Most software for the catering industry was designed by people who studied the industry. I built Quickater because I worked in it.

I spent years as a delivery driver. That's early starts, tight windows, and rolling up to a building with a full cart and no idea where the service entrance is. It's waiting until 8pm to learn what tomorrow looks like. It's calling the office to ask a question they shouldn't have to answer, because the information was never attached to the job. It's knowing exactly how it feels when the freight elevator is down and your next stop is in forty minutes.

That didn't stay at the driver level. It became the better part of a decade alongside coordinators, watching how they hold a busy season together, seeing where the day disappears, learning what it costs to paste a BEO into Word for the fifteenth time that week or answer one more email at capacity. It became conversations with packing staff about what makes a morning run and what turns it into chaos before the first van leaves.

So the problems Quickater solves aren't pain points from a market-research deck. They're things we lived, heard on repeat, and watched wear good teams down by the peak of the season.

That's why the details are specific. The location notes. The equipment checklists. Driver schedules that go out on time. A BEO that doesn't fall apart when someone opens it on a different computer. A change the client makes that reaches the whole team at once, instead of living in one person's inbox. None of it came from a whiteboard. Each one answers a problem I watched go unsolved for too long.

We built our catering operations software because we already knew what was broken. We'd been standing in it.

If you've run the routes, you'll recognize the product. Get in touch and we will walk you through it.
